Borough Council adopts ordinances for the betterment of our community. The following are some of the most often cited ordinances that may affect your daily life. You can always go to Borough Hall if you want to check an ordinance, or if you want to find out if an ordinance is in place to address an issue of particular concern to you.

Parking of commercial vehicles on the streets of Yeadon is prohibited

Repairs to vehicles are not to be performed on the street.

Parking in spaces designated for handicapped persons is prohibited unless authorized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

The Borough shall have the right to tow abandoned vehicles. Vehicles without current registration and inspection are considered abandoned.

Restrictions on parking for street cleaning are in effect from April 1 through December 15 of each year.

All dogs must be kept in a secured area or walked on a leash. Dogs are not permitted to run at large.

Minor's Curfew - Those under the age of eighteen are not permitted to roam the streets of the Borough between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM Friday and Saturday evenings and between the hours of 10:30 PM and 6:00 AM the remaining days of the week.

Moving of household furniture is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

Snow (or ice) must not remain on the sidewalk for more than 24 hours after the snow has ceased to fall.

Landscaping companies are required to submit a list of all chemicals used on any lawn.

No person shall allow objectionable vegetation (weeds and grass) to accumulate or remain on the premises owned, leased or occupied by that person.

Open burning is prohibited. No person shall ignite or burn ashes, rubbish, trash refuse, leaves, limbs or waste material upon any public street or private property.

Homes and businesses with automatic burglar alarm systems are required to register with the Borough. There is a fee for false alarms.

All commercial, industrial or institutional facilities in the Borough are required to have an automatic fire detection system. Single family dwellings should have at least one fire detector for each story of the dwelling unit. A minimum of one smoke detector in each guest room, suite or sleeping area. Commercial and industrial property should have one smoke detector for every 500 square feet.
